Excellent food & service. I wasn’t happy with the table we were initially offered, but they moved us without any fuss to a less busier spot. Waitress (can I say that now!) was very attentive & polite. We had 3 different meals across the four of us, and we all thought the food was excellent and well presented. Only live 3 minutes away, and hadn’t been there for a while (years), but they’ll see us more often now.

Love this place but please don't hand over the menu without telling me what is & isn't available...the starter & main we're delicious but when my main came there we're things missing off the plate, when I asked they said they didn't have any...abit disappointed this time

Dissappointing. No bottied mineral water, soup only warm, not hot, reheated probably in a microwave, Hunters chicken very dry, probably kept under heat due to delay with soup and only a tiny dish of sauce, no roast potatoes for the roast beef so had chips rather than the mash offered.

Generally good food quality. Steak was however rather chewy. No hot drinks possible since coffee machine was broken. Would not even issue hot water for tea - not possible? So how did they boil the vegetables? No small portions offered, only children's. My mother is 92; she doesn't eat normal portions.. So overall disappointed.

Our waiter was welcoming and courteous apolgised for the slight delay. Food was delicious..restaurant was nice and warm we would definitely go again

Great service. Friendly staff. Food was tasty and plentiful but could have been warmer. They did bring some extra gravy which was hot so warmed the meal more. Bit chilly in pub but it is an old building do to be expected. Would still recommend it

We haven’t been to the white lion for some time because of COVID-19 and so on. We were regulars and one point. We won’t be going back ever. The menu was very limited. We ended up having fish and chips. We thought oh well will make up with a nice dessert. No such luck. We sat for nearly 20 minutes with dirty plates in front of us while watching the two waitresses talking and talking they both looked on and saw us sat there we already said we would have dessert after. In the end we went to the bar and payed the bill. I told the waitress how long we had been waiting. Blar blar never again….

Booked table for 3oclock got to the white lion for 2.50. Had to wait until 3.40 before we got to table. would of waited longer if I had not complained. People where coming into the pub & getting a table as soon as they walked through the door. Anyway when we got to the table it took another 30 mins before they took our order. After all that food was like mush .looked like it was sat on the plate for hour them heated up
