Very nice meal but a shame the log fire was not lit as that would have created more atmosphere, it was certainly cold enough for it to be lit.

Although out booking appeared to be lost somehow in the system, we were welcomed and shown immediately to a table. Excellent food, excellent service.

The pub was quiet at midday but that is likely because of Ascot being on. The service was impeccable, attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious.

I gave a 4 as my friends vegetarian dish she said was delicious. I chose the crab & prawn fish cakes and to be honest if you’d said it was a plain potato cake I would have believed you. It was pretty tasteless without a hint of any form of fish! The pea purée it sat on was very tasty. The service and ambiance were good so we would definitely return, just not choose bland fish cakes!!

Everything about the meal was fine. However, the restaurant was empty apart from us and a couple of families on one table with very young children. The children were frequently crying, getting down from the table and crawling on the floor. It spoilt the occasion for us. The staff should have put our table for two well away from this group.

Decided to go out for Sunday dinner and booked the Windmill for an hour later! The restaurant had obviously been busy as lots of people were leaving as we arrived - it was 3pm! Service was quick and food was great. It’s a nice place to eat.

Wine list really good and I liked how all the bottles can be ordered a by the glass too. Had a delicious bloody Mary. Food slightly disappointing. Halloumi chips & French fries a must.

The waiter didn’t actually talk. He used his mask to mumble if he had to speak. He needed a rocket up his arxx - worse service o have ever experience
