We had dinner on a Tuesday evening at 19.30 and were the first guests. It turned out we would be the only guests for the evening. Probably effect of COVID. More people prefer to have dinner outside. A pitty. The restaurant deserved many more guests. We had a great meal. We started with calamares and the provoleta (melted cheese with tomato and herbs; delicious. Grilled asperges: very nice. The second course we took a rice dish which we shared for the table, Seemed similar technique/preparation as a paella but north Spanish style. Anyway, we really enjoyed it. Main courses we had the Chuleta Premium Goya (cane close to what the French would call a Cote de Boeuf) and duck breast. Both cooked close to perfection. All in all great food and impeccable, friendly service. I will certainly come back to this place.
Fantastic meal. Waitress could not do enough for us. Great help translating the menu to english! Such a lovely time back again the next day for cake & wine!
Atencion de 10, menu excepcional, ambiente muy agradable. Repetiremos, una vez mas, seguro
We didn’t feel welcome at all and considered to walk away. But after a long wait we were shown to our table and the waiter was nice. The cod and the sauce were very good but the vegetables were disappointing. We got extra potatoes for free. Nice dessert. Our visit ended rather well.
Good value, good food. Lucas excellent waiter. Modern atmosphere.
It appears that the restaurant wasn't very known yet, according to the staff of our hotel and the taxi driver. I can't imagine why. The food and service are very good. The waitress was very helpful in giving advice for the wine to accommodate with the food. We had the salmon and tuna as entree. The fish was remarkable fresh and very tasty. They have let the natural taste of the fish not became secondary to the marinade, oil and Wasabi. In my opinion an excellent choice. Our main dishes where Cod and the Hake. Also here fresh and natural taste. Portions where big for us. For dessert we had both the chocolate, also very good, but big portions. Can be of a challenge to finish. Overall service was good, quick in response and thet know their wine and foods. Next time in Donostia, we will lunch or dine here again!
All fish dishes are very tasty!!!
A nice setting, beautiful styling, although the bench was a little oncomfortable for a longer dinner. Great waitress with good suggestions for wine and dine. The crab salad was wonderful.
15 min after ordering they tell us that they can't serve us what we ordered... After that we order wine, 15 min later they tell us that they can't serve us the wine we ordered because they just serve the last cup... It was some kind of joke... Food was pretty standard so the bill resulted a bit overpriced(not a good quality-price ratio). Good points: water and coffee was good...
A really average restaurant. Food was nothing special and the wine recommended by the waitress was below average. Overpriced for what it is
We found this place on tripadvisor and was very impressed of the food and the very service minded staff. Good and relaxing atmosphere made this dinner superb.
Very tasty food and great service by this waiter that spoke perfect English. A Nice atmosphere too.
Really good food. My scallop, octopus and monkfish starter was delicious. Staff very helpful...one wrote down for me the name and ingredients of our appetiser...a cold soup called salmorejo!
One of the few very good restaurant and bar that opens on Sundays and holidays.
Food was really good. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere was okay (we visited in off-peak, afternoon hours). Experience was a bit frustrating, as one of the reasons I chose the restaurant is because I read the menu online in English, but we were told there wasn't a printed menu in English once we actually got to the restaurant.
Dear Vickie, We are very sorry for not having the menu in english. We have immediately printed the menu for the next guests. You are absolutely right!!! Thanks and have a nice trip back home!!
We were looking for a really good meal that was out of the tourist path and we found that here. This is a charming and welcoming restaurant and while in the center of town has not been discovered by the tourists. Their set daily menu looked like a good deal and appeared popular with the locals. However, we had heard how good the cod and duck were and so we ordered off of the full menu. We were very pleased with our choices. The wine list, though not long, was carefully constructed and we had an excellent rueda from a small producer that was excellent. The hostess/waitress was friendly and very helpful with our choices. We would definitely return.
Lovely find. Food was very good. Service was very friendly. Good ambiance as well. We were very pleased with our experience.
2nd time here this week. Great service and food again! Really excellent place to enjoy San Sebastián cuisine.
