Marygreen Manor is a beautiful old building near the centre of Brentwood. Other people in our group enjoyed their meals. However, recently the vegetarian dishes have been disappointing. My Thai green curry had a poor selection of vegetables and the sauce was not the best. There is no printed veggie menu and it is difficult to understand the waiter’s garbled description of the options available. Was he perhaps trained at Fawlty Towers?
Nice building, would of préfères to be in the conservatory like they mentioned. Really helpful with wheelchair access. Menu was not that great, the squid was pretty basic, the quality of the food across the table could of been better, maybe we ordered from The wrong menu. Dessert was amazing! Table service was good at the start but they were not very attentive towards the end. Had to chase people for the bill around the restaurant.
A Beautiful Tudor Restaurant, food always outstanding & service excellent.
From the moment we arrived to celebrate a dear friend's birthday we felt welcome, relaxed and thoroughly spoilt, the staff, especially the restaurant manager Michael, were extremely gracious; the food was delectable, copious and delicious, what better way to spend a Sunday than with good food, great wines and special friends in such glorious surroundings
Had a most enjoyable lunch at the Marygreen Manor Hotel. It's such a lovely place, dating back many centuries. The food was good, service very friendly, and overall I'd recommend the Tudors Restaurant for a good quality meal in a relaxing and traditional environment.
Great afternoon tea.
I have had the afternoon tea here before and really enjoyed it, which is why I returned. Every part of the tea was well thought out, made from quality ingredeints and tasted delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. I have also dined in the restaurant for an evening meal before and found that, as a vegetarian, the options were very limited and boring.
I booked after reading good reviews for afternoon tea and was treating a friend. The room the afternoon tea was held in was lovely even though the weather was awful. It was a good atmosphere but maybe some music in the background would have set it off better. I was a little disappointed as I thought the tea lacked ‘finesse’. I think that the sandwiches and desserts could have been presented better. Maybe a little more salad dressed around the sandwiches would have been an idea rather than a very small amount stuck in the middle of the plate! I would have liked a few more sandwiches and was disappointed when we weren’t offered any more. The rose on the table looked very sad and had seen better days. I just think that attention to detail would make this afternoon tea a little more desirable.
Afternoon tea was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Lovely building with so much history.
Very enjoyable. Nice food and attentive staff.
Friendly staff, excellent food and lovely atmosphere; a lovely pot of tea
A great place to dine out for a special occasion. Food great. Service polite and friendly and all catered for. Would fully recommend.
Excellent afternoon tea. The staff were very accommodating as I don’t drink tea or coffee.
We had the taster menu, the food was amazing and the wine complimented each course. ( We had the recommended wine with the meal). The service was excellent could not fault any part of the meal.
All round good experience
Really full in run up to Xmas, but had plenty of staff on to ensure all guests looked after. Had the pre-christmas lunch which was very reasonably priced. Had a tasty soup for starter then turkey, with my wife having sea bass. We then upgraded deserts to an excellent cheese board for me & chocolate sphere with hit save that my wife thoroughly enjoyed. Had a few drinks in the comfortable lounge after lunch before settling up & the staff ordering a cab. Would definitely return!
Lovely food but felt a little rushed as it was so busy but probably due to time of year
Lovely venue, great service, lovely meals
Excellent service Delicious food Lovely surroundings
A very enjoyable afternoon tea with my friends in the conservatory dining area. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. Both gentlemen who served us were friendly, courteous and helpful with attention to detail, even obliging with a beautifully wrapped 'doggy' bag for the extra cakes to take home for the family. I would recommend the afternoon tea to anyone. Great value in a lovely atmosphere.
