Nice atmosphere, not the warmest welcoming, no smiling at all from the 3 of the four waiters that were serving us. The cold dishes (tuna tartar, sushi) were very good. We were deeply disappointed when the hot dishes arrived. The most oily food I have ever ever ever tasted in my life. All 5 of them.

Everything from the first moment when we entered in the restaurant till the end was just perfect. The waiter was very friendly, yet professional and helped us a lot with choosing the right dish, as all of the items had only a description in Spanish. The food was amazing, we mainly ate sushi rolls, and can definitely recommend a salmon with cheese one, it's probably of the best I've ever tried. They have very cheap Spanish beer, and also a choice of 3 Japanese beers which are only a bit more expensive but still affordable. Will certainly return next time when we are in Barcelona.

Highly recomended, sushi is impressive, awesome yakisoba, and in my oppinion is not really expensive after tasting the quality of the dishes. Surelly one of my habituals from now on.

This is now the 4th time I visit Ukai and probably the last. First time I was impressed by both service and dish quality. Unfortunately it seems both have decreased significantly since then. Our waitress seemed impatient and asked for our order only a few minutes after we got our table. She would then return every two minutes to ask if we were ready. Had the 'Ukai' salad for starters, which was basically just lettuce, with a few shrimps, some microscopic pieces of tofu and a odd looking dressing. This was followed by fried Udon noodles with beef. These were rather good. After that we had sashimi from 3 differnt fish. The salmon as well as the white fish was decent, but the tuna did not look or taste very fresh. Finally we had two urimaki rolls, one fresh, one deep fried. Both tasted fine, but nothing special. Also the rolls were a bit sloppy, not well put together. One would have expected a bit more attention to detail since a big part of the menu is sushi rolls. Overall the experience was disappointing.

Very nice discovery in the Eixample near Hospital Clinic. This Japanese restaurant offers a really varied menu considering a lot of similar places either specialise in sushi or noodles. The quality of the food was good, the service was very attentive and staff were friendly. The restaurant itself was also comfortable and had a good atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant and would hope to return again to try out other options on the menu.
