Service was outstanding. The food was extremely well done. I had cockles and the portion size was very generous and the cockles were cooked perfectly and were highly flavorful. The tuna and avocado starter was also very well done and very tasteful. Fish was fresh and done perfectly. The lamb was excellent, juicy and crispy on the outside. Highly recommend this restaurant.

It's easy to find tapas in Bilbao, hard to find a full menu, even harder to come across a really good restaurant. We had excellent hake. Tucked away in an alley behind the opera house, it's it's only about 50 feet from the tramline.

The food and the service were excellent. Our server managed to create the feeling that we were in a comfortable home and she easily managed the entire room. Not only were the ingredients top-notch, but the preparation of each dish was innovative and distinctive. We are happy that we wandered into this restaurant. It was a high light of our 3 days in Bilbao.

We shared the scallops for a starter and they were delicious. For main course we had the hake and cod which were both excellent. The best dishes we had in our six days visiting San Sebastián and Bilbao. In an unassuming backstreet in the Casa Nuevo. A must try for foodie lovers only pity was we were so full we couldn’t try a dessert. Could have easily shared a main course and then had one. How anyone can do the 7 course menu I will never know.

The food was good but not something you can’t miss The ambience very poor Many plates and wines missing and the price extremely high for what served We paid first time in Bilbao for two with a glass of wine 140€ !!! It was one salad one plate with mini clams type and two pieces of veal meat with patatoes (10€ extra)

Thanks for wyou review, although we don´t agree in your comments about the price, pelase don´t forget we use fresh first quality products, not fast food frozen ingredients, for the same reason it´s difficult for us to have all the dishses available on sunday night, since it´s not easy to predict what ingredientes are we going to run of and it´s not possible to get them on sunday, however we want to apologize if you dind´t get what you expected

We loved our dinner here. We had the €50 tasting menu, which gave us an excellent sampling of 3 appetizers (foie gras to die for!), small fish and meat dishes, plus dessert. A beautiful glass of red wine added €3. The only issues we had were the meal was served a bit too quickly and the room is very brightly lit. That said, I’d highly recommend Urregin for dinner.

The fixed price menu was excellent! Every serving was well-prepared and flavorful. I loved the hake and the cheesecake was amazing. I ordered the sirloin medium rare but it came rare. It was still delicious. Service by Yassir was wonderful. Lovely meal!

The food was excellent. One of our best meals and we did several Michelin star restaurants. Very helpful staff. The scallops & burrata appetizers were exquisite. The cheesecake was amazing.

I’m sorry to say that we were quite disappointed with our experience. It is not a bad restaurant but there were some aspects which we didn’t like. The lighting is very bright and they were playing quite loud 1950s rock music, both of which didn’t help with the ambiance. We had the full tasting menu which was good in parts - the first few courses were lovely and good sized portions. The two “mains” were not so good. The Turbot was covered in garlic and had a very sweet sauce which didn’t really work for us. The beef tail was a huge portion and very rich. It would have been OK as a stand-alone dish but was a bit too much for a multi course tasting menu. The inverted tiramisu was a wonderful finish. The staff were also great . So possibly a harsh review but I think the chef should review the tasting menu - smaller, more refined courses would be better and there is clearly the talent in the kitchen to do so.
