Food and wine pairing menu were absolutely delicious, staff were wonderful, could not recommend highly enough! Beautiful old building in a narrow alley, dates from 16th Century, overall a great experience.

Amazing birthday dinner at Restaurant Van der Dustin in Delft- no menu for you to choose from, it's a surprise, you just let them know anything you don't like and choose how many course you want from 4 to 7 - we opted for 6 after the starter and the intermediary course, and you can choose wine by the glass to suit what you are eating: Amuse bouche - cauliflower mouse, grated apple with a sweet curry leaf tuile  Starter - cod brined for 36 hours with a tomato jam, tomato meringue and spinach cream Intermediary - pumpkin ravioli with curry and lemongrass sauce, a savoury shortbread and saffron cream Fish course - red Gurnard with sweet cabbage on a bisque with tiny shrimps Meat - venison on a bed of mashed potato with baby brussel sprouts and a smoked spring onions and balsamic gravy with chopped almonds Second Meat- veal loin with fondant potato, asparagus, parsnip, caramelised onions and a red wine jus (plus mushrooms for Karen) Desert (could have had a cheese platter instead, or that would have been the 6th of 7 courses) - dark chocolate and banana cream, mango banana and passion fruit yoghurt mouse, mango coulis and pink pepper crumble.

Lovely restaurant. We had the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Staff were attentive and efficient. Food was excellent. Restaurant full so good ambiance.

The restaurant was excellent, we ordered 4 courses and they have some pretty impressive vegetarian options for my girlfriend. The cod dish was cooked to perfection - the grilled cod back retained its sweetness and the fish was not overcooked. The entrée of salmon had a very nice beetroot sorbet, and the dishes were complex but tied together in a cohesive manner. The price reflects the quality.

Definitely one of the best meals I ever had. Explosion of flavours with every dish. Wine pairing definitely recommended; excellent service and magical atmosphere. Glad we had the opportunity to discover.

Excellent restaurant, refined without being pretentious. The choice of the menu and the wine is perfect. We tried the set menu and a la carte and we were amazed by the delicate, tasteful flavours. The interior is beautiful, cosy and the setting of the tables allow enough privacy. Staff are very professional, knowledgeable of the menu, discreet and accommodating. Van der Dussen has ticked all the boxes that I love in a restaurant and I will definitely come back for more!

We loved the restaurant. Only downside was very poor selection of non alcoholic drinks, basically sprite, Coca Cola or fruit syrups after having been to several other restaurants in delft that had a really great selection. How about a few non alcoholic cocktails? No fresh mint tea either, which was a bit surprising.
