Chef Angelic Lokeni has sharpened his knives in many kitchens over the years with his most recent tenure in the Head roll at James Streets Bucci for 3 years. He took the rains from Damon Porter in early 2020 and Angelic has taken Vaquero to the next level with his calm and meticulous approach to doing it the right way.

    Service was prompt and professional. I particularly liked that the waitress asked us if we’d like our mains prepared after entree or if we’d like a break. The food was delicious and the servings were generous. Well worth a return visit.

    Lovely restaurant, perfect for a special romantic occasion. Had the lamb which had a beautiful smoky flavour and the labneh matched perfectly too. The cheese chorizo croquettes were delicious. They had a huge drinks menu. At 5pm I was the only one so meal was served in 5 minutes. Great service. Quite small serves so I could easily eat a few entrees and a main.

    As well as the food being amazing, the waitress we had was truly outstanding. Had the gluten free option with the banquet and was very impressed with quality and amount of food. Thank you very much and we will be back!

    Great service, nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. Had the gnocchi which was splendid, the waitress couldn’t have been nicer and friendlier and contributed to a good night. Highly recommend.

    One of Brisbane’s best restaurants. We had the waygu steak share plate and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Lovely staff and great atmosphere.

    When I arrived they couldn’t find my booking through The Fork but assured me that they would sort something (and they did) even though the restaurant was clearly full. I would highly recommend Vaquero but I would suggest to book through the restaurant.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Vaquero. We chose the banquet for our Saturday lunch and it was delectable and delightful. Wait staff were excellent. Have been there previously and will continue to dine there.

    Shane and the crew always offer exceptional service!. Great to see the restaurant with such a positive vibe (with Covid safe measures) . We opted for the banquet and it was perfect for Midweek date night. This is our favourite restaurant and it never disappoints!

    Food was tasty and interesting. Meat tacos were yum but small. Spicy potato was delish. I found the main meal selections a little basic so we had several entree/tapas plates. Great atmosphere and decor. Nice chilled evening. Would recommend.

    Drove down from the Sunny coast on Sat night for dinner with my wife to cellerbrate our wedding anniversary. Glad we made the trip.Friendly staff that care about your dining experience and delicious food served made it a very enjoyable night. Thoroughly reccomend a night out here as its hard to fault. Looking forward to coming back with some friends soon.

    The food was good but portions were quite small for the price that we paid. Service was excellent and the restaurant had a lovely ambience. Would I go back? Not really as I prefer a more hearty meal.

About the restaurant

‘From farm to plate'

‘Vaquero' in Spanish translates to the horseback mounted cattle herder. In the 1500s, the Spanish brought the vaquero to Mexico. This influenced the cuisine, which brought the importance of livestock to their dishes. In Albion is Vaquero Dining, a place for relaxation and good food. The menu is made to be shared between friends and family. They pride themselves on the ‘farm to plate' ethic, where the best ingredients are sourced. And they are only sourced through farmers that utilise sustainable, organic and socially conscious methods. Vaquero Dining exudes sophistication and elegance in every dish.
