Tras cuarenta años de éxito (sobreviviendo a cualquier crisis), Viridiana sigue siendo un local inclasificable, ajeno a los vaivenes de las modas. Un establecimiento en el que cada detalle es una prolongación de la personalidad de su chef, Abraham García.
Viridiana es, sin duda, uno de los locales en que mejor se come en Madrid, gracias a una carta siempre fresca y pendiente del mejor producto, del sabor y las elaboraciones, a la vez imaginativas y sensatas, huyendo de banderas y etiquetas, y apostando por la calidad contrastada.

Máximo exponente de la cocina de fusión, Abraham García ha volcado en su restaurante su amor por la literatura y el arte, exhibiendo en las paredes del local óleos de los mejores pintores del momento y convirtiendo su carta en un rimero de citas de los más grandes autores.

Entre sus platos más aplaudidos (todos lo son) figuran el foie de pato levemente ahumado, los caracoles a la llauna o la pierna de cordero rellena de sus mollejas y riñones… Clásicos (y mil veces imitados) sus huevos con mousse de hongos y un eclipse de trufa.
Imprescindible estar atento a los platos fuera de carta, una alternativa deliciosa dictada por los caprichos del mercado.
Cocina sabrosa, rotunda y a contratiempo, oficiada por un chef en estado de gracia.

Un postre para la posteridad: su tocinillo hecho en el cielo a la flor de naranjo.

The food was delicious. The restaurant was very quiet as it was the evening of the football. Staff were very - over attentive, which meant we were rushed and constantly had staff standing looking at us, clearing away our food too quickly.this made the evening feel a bit rushed. Truly superb food, though.

Un lugar de comida tradicional y sorprendente. Espectacular cachopo de lengua y sensacional la exquisitez de la aparente sencillez de un huevo frito. El arroz con leche caramelizado de lagrimón. Un sitio de referencia.

No te pierdas la sartén de huevos con trufa, simplemente espectacular!!.
Entrante del día croquetas de jamón, súper cremosas.
Paletilla de cordero, sabrosa y en su punto.
Lubina fresca, deliciosa.

Longtime local favorite Spanish chef. Humble as he walks around to check on diners. Recommend getting the tasting menu. There is not an English menu and staff speak very little English but were accomodating and understood dietary restrictions. Listed as $$$$ restaurant. Coming from San Francisco I felt the prices were moderate, not overpriced. But definitely expensive by Spanish standards. Set aside at least two hours. I was there for 2.5 and was a solo diner. Would definitely go back again.

This was one of our European trip highlights. We had “lunch” which turned into an extravaganza. We were greeted with a glass of cava by a very friendly waiter. Prior to our first course of escargot (29 of them!) we had a complimentary gazpacho and sardines in a “Nikkei” inspired sauce (Japanese and Peruvian fusion) that was excellent. My wife’s rice with shrimp and vegetables was fine as well. My Iberian pork loin was outstanding. We had the black and white chocolate desert which was more than we could eat and then treated to chocolate truffles and a small pear in liquor. A wonderful sherry was provided by the chef as well.

Delicious food which was beautifully presented. The restaurant was delightfully laid out with ceramic hats in the place settings. Service was amazing - my wife is coeliac and and the restaurant went above and beyond in providing an extra course when she could get not have the gazpacho. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
