The quality of the food did not reflect the higher pricing that the restaurant charges. For most meals you need to pay £5.00 supplement for chicken (no other choice of meat available) unless you wanted the vegetarian option. The chicken came in indenitcal cubes. In fact, the texture and taste did not resemble chicken at all. I could not eat it all. We only visited as we stayed on site but should we stay again, we would look to have dinner elsewhere as the convenience of staying on site does not outweigh the quality of the food. On a positive note, the waiting staff provide an excellent service and are a credit to the hotel.

Restaurant is a little tired and soulless. Everything was a bit slow and disjointed, drinks took 30 mins to arrive and then after prompting. Food was good which redeemed the service somewhat. They forgot my son’s food - he was hungry and so started on my steak which was delicious and so he turned his nose up at the burger once it arrived. It did its job and fed us … eventually !

This restaurant, despite knowing how many people to cater for (because you have to book a time slot) simply can’t cope with delivering enough food for all its customers at breakfast time.. Very very long waits for buffet items and one staff member was very rude to a number of customers who simply asked if the hot items were being replaced. Not enough planning going into serving breakfasts for the numbers of guests and not enough staff who care about the customer experience. This was a very poor experience so we won’t be visiting again!

Had an afternoon tea at Botley park hotel in the Winchester restaurant.. This was our first visit here the staff were welcoming and very attentive, very polite. restaurant was relaxing clean and well set out .Food was presented well on a stand tea /coffee was plenty we had 8 finger sandwiches two warm scones with cream /jam and six bite size fancy cakes special thank you to Oliver our waiter who was well presented and very polite a credit to the hotel.

As we were staying at the Botley park hotel we decided to eat at the Winchester. We both had the fish, which was ok but very greasy and the hand cut chips, which were actually just standard cheap frozen chips. All in all, the food and service was very average and definitely not worth the cost. We like the hotel but will not be dining at the Winchester again.

We were seated in an empty restaurant when i requested a seat in the lounge. Selection of varieties of tea was poor, the tea had sandwiches, two small scones and a poorselection of cakes. Mo one really seemed interested that we were there.

Absolutely brilliant meal and service. The restaurant manager and his staff were fantastic, looked after us wonderfully from the moment we arrived. The manager was really helpful in suggesting some vegan options for myself, the masaman curry was so tasty! My husband ordered the beef, which he said was really good too. They really did make my birthday a special one. We will be coming back for sure!

Food was awful, dinner last night, carbonara was hard, plate dirty, panna cotta was like pink rock hard angel delight. Artisan bread was glorified multi seed toast and cold butter. Burger bun was not brioche. Our waitress was amazing and couldn’t fault her. Our breakfast in the morning was awful. Sausages were thick and awful tasting, bacon not flavour at all, beans watery, potato cakes were dry and over cooked, for it being 8am they had been sat there a while. Very disappointing all round

Starters lacked flavour, chicken main over cooked, beef daub very good puddings disappointing. Breakfast staff on both day very friendly and helpful. The food on the first day was well cooked but cold (the chaffing dish were not turned on) breakfast on Tuesdays very good , well cook and hot

Have never seen such a shambles. Nowhere near enough staff. Half of our meal didn't arrive, and even though reported to staff, they were then seen tending to other tables and never returned with our missing items.

On arrival there was no staff member in the restaurant and we waited a good five minutes before anyone came. We were shown to a table that had been decorated nicely for festive afternoon tea. Food and tea was delivered promptly. There were very few diners however I had to remind the waitress that the afternoon tea package included a glass of prosecco. We had to request more tea as no one came to the table to check. The food was delicious but the service was lacking unfortunately.

Breakfast at the Fork was excellent! Stayed here 12 months ago, and to be honest it was so-so at best. But this weekend was one of the best experiences we have had at any restaurant, the food and staff were top notch, and the chef even advised me on the secret of perfect poached eggs (it's all in the swirl apparently!) Full marks all round!!
