I have eaten at the 6 bells before and had a brilliant time. Unfortunately this time wasnt so good, the food was excellent as usual but the service wasnt so good, there was a long wait for food, and had to keep reminding to be given cutlery. Some of us ending up eating with our fingers as we had waited so long for the food and then had to wait for the cutlery while the waiter served another table. The restaurant was very cold and I had to eat with my coat on for the majority of the time. Whilst I have said the service wasnt very good compared to previous visits, I think it was because it was busy and I get the impression the waiter was either very new or learning, he was polite but it was the delay in being able to eat because of the basic lack of spoons etc that caused the lower review.

Staff were very friendly especially the two young waitresses. When I asked if they would light the fire as it was a bit cold it was done immediately. Food was delicious.

Lovely Gastro pub close to Gatwick airport.Great food and service.Had the best Belly pork as a main dish that i have ever had.I highly recommend this restaurant.

What a great find, I was looking for a decent restaurant near gatwick airport where I was meeting my sister, didn’t hold out much hope of anything very good. I was wrong, this was a lovely ancient pub, great food and great service, I thoroughly recommend it

The staff were very accommodating agreeing to our moving to a different table because the one allocated was in such a dark location. In fact the whole restaurant seemed darker today than usual. The food and service were excellent the only downside was a rather noisy table next to us which made hearing our group's conversation a little difficult.

Excellent food & service, thank you for a great evening. Stayed at Travelodge for an overnight stay, only a 10 minute walk and well worth it. I would highly recommend.

Our waiter Gok was really attentive and friendly. Couldn't ask for more. Enjoyed the experience which made our special occassion so good. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

We found this pub on the internet, while staying overnight at Gatwick airport. It was wonderful to go to this old pub, getting out of the airport and instead having a very nice meal in a friendly english pub. We will definitely go there again.

This very old pub is up a road of the main road from London to Brighton on the corner of Gatwick. Incredibly there was no noise from the airport inside the building. Had a most enjoyable meal and reasonably priced . We ate of the set menu which is served Monday to Wednesday but you can choose of an extensive a la carte menu which is available all week.. The set menu is between £16 and £21. The service was excellent from the smiling, happy members of staff. It’s definitely worth visiting
