About the restaurant Zoku Amsterdam

Sharing food is the world’s most social activity and Zoku’s founding food and drink philosophy. Skip the small talk with 500 Facebook friends and come grab a beer from the bar or share a meal in our Living Kitchen. You decide: eat together or alone, eat extensively or the express way.

At Zoku we have a strong need for simplicity. Our Living Kitchen is just that: simple and honest food served on long communal tables. Designed to help nourish the body and mind, this means healthy food served fast. Home-grown vegetables and herbs from our rooftop garden provide great flavour for our high-quality, daily changing menu, with organic ingredients, purchased from local suppliers where possible.

It was nice entry to the restaurant. But then it was quite busy, Sunday brunch time. The staffs were nice
In general but they seemed a bit confused when I asked for my reserved table. We had to wait a few minutes and they gave us a table but then it was a table with the bench seating. We booked for six ppl and the seat was just not spacey enough for all of us. We barely fit and it was very uncomfortable but we did not want to complain, wait for more and let them to figure out the seat. Since it seemed already very hectic. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine but then the staff at the bar was occupied for so long with a phone call and there were a bunch of ppl waiting for something, so we went back and forth like 3times to get the attention from them since they don’t take the drink order from the restaurant. One of the staff told us to go order at the bar but the bar side was already busy with other guests with other stuff (check-in/out or etc.) The food was good but then it took for awhile so we were already quite full before the dish came. All in all, it was quite chaotic. The place itself was beautiful but wasn’t able to enioy much.

The brunch offer is great! Very good price/quality. If the weather is nice, the restaurant is very bright and the view is lovely. The staff is also amazing! Super helpful and very happy to work there. Definetely a spot to bring your friends / family!

Wow, that's an overwhelming place for all senses! From the exterior, it can pass by something casual, nothing special. But once you reach the 6th floor, you first enter a very symphatic roof garden and then BOOM there goes the splendid open space dining room and kitchen, strong magnificent scent and a feast for the eyes with on one side very nice-looking dishes, and the other that panoramic view of the city! Our breakfast was perfection with a very professional and gentle staff and of course fresh juices, bread (that you can toast yourself), eggs, salad, cereals, hot drinks...and of course, cheese, yes, Dutch cheese!!
Even being a little on the outside of the center (15 mins walk but 5 mins by tram), Zoku should be part of every tourist experience here to understand how sweet and unique is the dutch way of life.

I love the self-service concept, the location is cool and unique, very friendly and buzzy atmosphere. On Fridays there is a live jam session in the adjacent room which serves as nice background music. The menu is limited to one meat, one fish and one veg dish but all were delicious and made choosing easier.

Good brunch concept but failed in execution. No one around to direct patrons on how the unusual concept works or what to do. The bread/fruit buffet was empty the entire time we were there.

Absolutely beautiful setting on the rooftop. Both interior and exterior are decorated amazingly, the atmosphere is incredible and the food was divine! The service is very friendly and as it is a DIY ordering system, very efficient!
Fascinating concept excellently executed.

Definitely one of my favorite spot for brunch in Amsterdam. This is where I bring my friends and family when they are visiting: nice view on the city, great and friendly service, good healthy food with a lot of option, a cosy atmosphere. Recommend it!

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We had large share plates of food and the staff were very attentive. During dinner it was very convenient to have the drinks available for self-service.

It was nice. Juices are great, food is OK but nothing special, only one meet option and more sides. View is awesome and the atmosphere is nice, friendly and professional. All in all a good experience, will be back.

I always love to visit Zoku. They organize so many (free) events and the mood is always very cozy. As for the restaurant, they have a nice sort of self-service which is based on trust of their visitors, and it really fits Zoku. Though to me, the diner food was ok-ish.
If you’re just there for the bites, they have good options though. Next time I’d probably skip the diner and come there for drinks, maybe a small bite and the atmosphere!
