We were looking forward to our dining experience. However we were quite disappointed. The food was average. The service left a lot to be desired. Definitely not up to Michelin standards.

Great Service and very good food. However the interior was very dated and more out of the 80s, a pitty since the overall setting is a part of an evening.

This is my first evening in Bilbao and I booked a reservation at Restaurante Zortziko. I was surprised the ratings were very good, but not great. But I thought, let's see. I wanted some culinary inspired Basque food! I had an 8:30PM reservation and I was the first guest. The dining room is beautiful. Menus were in Spanish and English, and I tried my best on Spanish throughout the meal. Either way though, they would have been fine in either language as I heard them speaking English with other folks. I debated the 11 course or 6 course meal. Could I eat it all? Well, I went with 6. The positive was that I got the amazing artichoke dish and the super fantastic pork dish (seriously, best ever...crispy, delicious). Even that meal took 1 hour 45 minutes, so I can't imagine how long the 11 course takes! But I bet it is good! Well, the amouse bouche was very nice. It was followed by the squid (which I normally never order), which was beautiful and delicious. Then the really great artichoke dish with the croquettes. Followed by the tasty and well prepared fish. And then...the amazing crispy pork dish. Two desserts followed. Both were great. I paired the meal with some white wine and ended with some lovely spanish brandy. Well, I still don't understand the reviews. The meal was great. Just some suggestions - try new things. Don't substitute. Enjoy the food as the chef intended. You won't regret it.

From the outside the restaurant not easy to see. When you go through the door it is clear; this is a nice place. Food and service are great. Excellent sommelier and good wine selection.

A very special experience, the 11 courses Signature Menu is a creative, delicious and surprising combination. Top quality to the point!!! The wine combination is a creation on its own and fits perfectly. Thank you, Daniel and Team for an unforgettable evening.
